The Winneconne Police Department is looking to hire candidates looking to start in law enforcement, wanting just a part-time officer job, or those that are retired and want to maintain their certification. We are moving to 4 days on 5 days off schedule in 2026. We will have plenty of shifts available. Winneconne is a growing community with a destination school district. We prefer to hire those that have completed the academy. We will review applications/resumes as they come in and not wait till the deadline to interview.

Responsibilities:
Part-time police officer: This is a sworn officer position. Job duties included: Calls for service, traffic enforcement, parking enforcement, ordinance enforcement, community policing activities, special event details, just to name a few. Part time officers fill in shifts when full-time officers take off and when there are open shifts. Part-time officers are expected to work weekends, nights and holidays as required for scheduling purposes. We are a 24/7 police department.

Qualifications:
- Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
- Ability to perform essential functions of this position
- Ability to possess a firearm
- Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Clear and concise speech
- Driver's license
- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
- Good driving record
- Good physical condition
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
- No domestic abuse convictions
- No felony convictions
- React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
