Responsibilities:
Position Responsibilities
WMPD Officers generally work eight-hour shifts, 4 days on 2 days off rotation. The current residency requirements is 30 miles from the police department. New candidates will have five years to complete the 60 college credits. WMPD will cover academy cost and pay throughout the academy.
Lateral Transfer Program Details:
Sworn lateral officers will be starting at a higher wage based upon experience. Sworn officers will not have to take the written entrance examination.
