The Mount Pleasant Police Department (MPPD) is actively recruiting experienced police officers. Mount Pleasant is one of the largest and fastest growing villages in Wisconsin, encompassing 36 square miles and over 28,000 residents. With the recent addition of corporations like FoxConn and Microsoft, Mount Pleasant is rapidly expanding and the MPPD anticipates noticeable growth. The MPPD is currently home to 56 sworn officers and 10 administrative staff, including 3 K-9s, 2 task force officers (FBI Gang and Metro Drug Task Forces), 2 Community Oriented Policing Officers (COP), 1 School Resource Officer (SRO) and more. In addition, the department supports several specialties including a tactical team, drone program, motorcycles, evidence techs, training instructors and more. The MPPD is looking to add experienced officers to our team.

Responsibilities:
Patrols all assigned areas for the prevention of crime and the enforcement of state statutes and village ordinances. Responds to requests for service in both emergency and non-emergency situations and takes appropriate action.
Lateral Transfer Program Details:
EXPEDITED LATERAL ENTRY PROCESS:
The Mount Pleasant Police Department seeks individuals with prior law enforcement experience at the municipal, county, state or federal level to join our team as part of our lateral transfer program. If selected, individuals with qualifying law enforcement experience are eligible for year-for-year credit with placement in the corresponding pay scale, as well as increased sick leave and vacation. Officers hired as lateral transfers from another state or federal agency will have 12 months to successfully complete the State of Wisconsin Law Enforcement Reciprocity Exam. According to the Mount Pleasant Professional Police Association 2023-2026 collective bargaining agreement, top pay is reached in 3 years and is $91,003.

01/2026 - $69,714 to $91,003
