Our officers currently work a 4 on 2 off rotating schedule with 8.25 hour shifts. We are very likely to change to a 4 on 2 off, 4 on 3 off schedule with 9 hour shifts. This will result in 28 weekends a year with at least 1 weekend day off. In addition we allow officers to flex their hours whenever the schedule allows to provided maximum flexibility without using benefit time.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to patrol, traffic enforcement, investigation of criminal complaints and enforcement of state laws and municipal ordinances.
Lateral Transfer Program Details:
Depending on qualifications, applicants, currently employed as a full time police officer, may be given consideration for increased pay and vacation time at the discretion of the chief.

Qualifications:
- Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
- Ability to perform essential functions of this position
- Ability to possess a firearm
- Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Clear and concise speech
- Driver's license
- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
- Good driving record
- Good physical condition
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
- No domestic abuse convictions
- No felony convictions
- Previous experience
- React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
- U.S. citizen
