Position Responsibilities

Responsibilities include: enforcing and investigating crimes pertaining to state law and city ordinances, preventative patrol by vehicle, bike or foot, responding to calls for service, assisting all persons with their needs. City of Monroe patrol officers take complaints, answer questions, resolve disputes and ensure public safety 24 hours a day.

Lateral Transfer Program Details:

Lateral Transfer opportunities are available to officers currently working in non-correctional law enforcement and their hiring process will move rapidly and begin upon receipt of DJ-LE-330. Later Transfer Officers can receive starting pay up $36.76/hour with 5+ years of experience and can receive up to the 5 year level of vacation upon hiring.

  • Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification

  • Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
  • No domestic abuse convictions
  • No felony convictions
  • React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
  • Supervisory/Management Experience
  • U.S. citizen
  • Vision correctable to 20/20
