Responsibilities:
This position is to maintain the most effective enforcement of Federal and State laws and ordinances for the preservation of life, public peace, protection of property, prevention of crime, and the arrest and conviction of violators. This is a law enforcement position with arrest powers. Work is performed in accordance with prescribed regulations and is reviewed regularly by supervisors by reviewing call logs, reports, annual performance reviews and additional data. Supervision Received: Works under the close supervision of the Patrol Sergeants. Supervision Exercised: None CLASSIFICATION SPECIFICATION The following duties are normal for this position. Qualifications:
- Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
- Ability to perform essential functions of this position
- Ability to possess a firearm
- Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Driver's license
- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
- Good driving record
- Good physical condition
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
- No domestic abuse convictions
- No felony convictions
- React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
