Position Responsibilities

This is a sworn law enforcement position under the direction and supervision of University of Wisconsin-Madison PD supervisors/managers. Perform crowd control and security functions at Camp Randall Stadium, during University of Wisconsin-Madison home football game operational periods, to ensure the safety and security of patrons, staff, teams, and the general public. Work collaboratively with contracted security personnel, event staff, and other public safety providers to promote a safe and welcoming environment with a secure perimeter. Assist with executing the emergency sheltering and/or evacuation plans when directed. Enforce laws, investigate complaints and incidents, maintain order, identify criminal activity, and apprehend and arrest offenders. Respond, triage, and administer medical 1st aid until paramedics arrive. Take action to detect, prevent, mitigate, and neutralize any active threats. Enforce patron code of conduct policies and eject patrons when appropriate. Complete incident reports under the direction and with the assistance of the UWPD processing staff in the Police Center.

  • Ability to possess a firearm
  • Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
  • Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Clear and concise speech
  • Driver's license
  • Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
  • Good driving record
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • No domestic abuse convictions
  • No felony convictions
  • React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
