Position Responsibilities

Hiring a certified Full-Time Officer to enforce state laws and city ordinances in the City of Cumberland. Officers work 12 hour shifts (6p-6a, 6a-6p, or 4p-4a) on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule (every other weekend off). Cumberland Police Department has a great training budget to allow officers to excel in areas of interest. Officers can be hired at a higher vacation rate than the starting rate with prior law enforcement experience. -Room for advancement to Sergeant -Department that supports specified training in your areas of interest -Great technology to assist in the performance of your duties. For example: new computers, new body cameras, new dash cameras, automated license plate readers, Flock cameras, surveillance cameras throughout the City and more.   • Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Clear and concise speech
  • Driver's license
  • Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
  • Good driving record
  • Good physical condition
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
  • No domestic abuse convictions
  • No felony convictions
  • React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
  • U.S. citizen
