Chippewa County is currently accepting applications from qualified individuals seeking to establish or advance their career in 911 Telecommunications. This position within the Sheriff’s Department offers the opportunity to work with a highly skilled Communications Center Team providing both emergency and non-emergency services to the communities of Chippewa County. All law enforcement, EMS and fire agencies within Chippewa County are dispatched through the Communication Center. Chippewa County 911 Telecommunicators are required to work 12-hour shifts (6 AM – 6 PM or 6 PM – 6 AM) which includes weekends and holidays.

**CURRENT Shift Openings are: Nights, 6 PM to 6 AM. Nights include shift differential of $1.00 per hour. Shifts: Days, 6 am – 6 pm and Nights, 6 PM – 6 AM.

Successful candidates will possess: • Flexibility to work in a 24/7 environment • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Ability to learn and use GPS and GIS data relating to county landmarks, roads and businesses • Ability to respond in a calm, level-headed manner, thinking quickly in the midst of stressful situations • Passion to serve the community and their team members with professionalism and respect
