Boyceville is a rural community with a population of 1100 located about 45 minutes from Eau Claire to the east and the Twin Cities to the west. We are currently taking applications for a full-time officer. Candidates must be able to work independently and stay active in a small community, taking firm but fair enforcement actions, and be willing to address everything from ordinance complaints to major cases, working all aspects of the case from start to end. This position is primarily scheduled for working evenings and weekends but we can offer a great deal of flexibility when it comes to balancing work and family life. We have good equipment and invest time and resources in training our employees, valuing them as people and not just cogs in a machine. Responsibilities:
Under the general direction and supervision of the Chief, police officers perform the responsibilities of a patrol officer for the Village of Boyceville. Officers responds to calls for service and conducts high visibility, proactive patrols to enforce state and federal criminal laws and municipal ordinances. Officers will conduct many of their own investigations. Officers usually work 10-hour shifts.

Qualifications:
- Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
- Ability to perform essential functions of this position
- Ability to possess a firearm
- Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Clear and concise speech
- Driver's license
- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
- Good driving record
- Good physical condition
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
- No domestic abuse convictions
- No felony convictions
