Position Responsibilities

This is a professional position responsible for performing a variety of law enforcement duties including, but not limited to, the protection of life and property through the enforcement of laws and ordinances. The work includes preventing, detecting, and investigating crimes; maintaining law and order; and patrolling and enforcing traffic regulations. Officers work under the direction and general supervision of the Chief of Police and Lieutenant but must exercise considerable judgment, discretion, and initiative in the performance of their duties. Our Officers work 12-hour shifts with a schedule consisting of 2 on-2 off-3 on-2 off-2 on 3-off. 80 Hours in a pay period and every other weekend off.

  • Clear and concise speech
  • Driver's license
  • Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
  • Good driving record
  • Good physical condition
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
  • No domestic abuse convictions
  • No felony convictions
  • React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
  • U.S. citizen
  • Vision correctable to 20/20
