The Village of McFarland has an immediate opening for the Police Department Office Manager position. The Office Manager will be responsible for administrative support work for the Department. This position manages and oversees all office support functions of the Police Department, handles confidential materials, and conducts various administrative assignments in support of the Police Chief and Command staff within the Department.
Candidate must possess or be able to obtain a valid Wisconsin drivers’ license, and must not have been convicted of any felony or qualified misdemeanor that would prohibit the applicant from passing a background check to have access to the TIME or NLETS records system. This is a non-exempt, hourly position with a starting annual pay range of $53,886 to $68,285 (depending on qualifications and experience) with an excellent benefit package, including health, dental and vision insurance, participation in Wisconsin Retirement System, ample paid time off, 11 paid holidays, and much more.

Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions: -Manage, coordinate, and oversee the office support services of the Department by setting daily work priorities and establishing standard operating procedures and forms. Coordinates the work, schedule, and training of the crossing guards. -Assists with the hiring, training, and evaluation of other departmental clerical staff. -Provides customer assistance by answering phones or receiving the public, including answering questions, responding to inquiries, receiving payments, and providing copies of reports. Screens and routes incoming calls to appropriate personnel. -Receives, processes, and files law enforcement reports, complaints, and citations of a confidential and sensitive nature. -Acts as custodian of departmental documents and records including fulfilling requests and redaction as legally required. Establishes and maintains centralized filing systems and control records. -Inputs statistical data, prepares and sends reports to outside agencies, and responds to requests for information from outside agencies. -Prepares final dispositions for State records. -Maintains payroll, leave, uniform and expense records, and provides information for and input into the preparation of the departmental budget. -Maintains inventories and orders office supplies and materials. -Oversees the weekly management of building entry/security systems. -Manages and schedules School Crossing Guards. -Provides effective and efficient customer service and promotes and maintains responsive community relations. Knowledge of: -Law enforcement clerical policies and procedures. -Law enforcement terminology. -Applicable state statutes and municipal ordinances. -Current office equipment, procedures, methods, and practices. -Design and maintenance of centralized records systems. -Wisconsin open records laws.

- Associate degree in office management, administration, criminal justice, or related field preferred.
