The Mountain Bay Metropolitan Police Department is accepting applications to fill retirement vacancies and create an eligibility list for the position of police officer. We serve the Village of Rothschild, Village of Weston, City of Schofield and Town of Weston, with a population of approximately 24,501. The department is growing, with a positive work culture, supportive communities and competitive union contract, including wages and PTO schedules.

Responsibilities:
Policer officers are responsible for the protection of life and property through the proactive enforcement of laws and ordinances. Patrol duties include working assigned areas, responding to calls for service, investigating crimes, gathering evidence, protecting victims, the public and property, making criminal and traffic arrests, proactive enforcement, community policing, completing timely reports and other duties as required. Pitman Schedule: Patrol works the Pitman Schedule (14 day rotation, each employee works seven 12 or 10 hour shifts during that rotation with every other weekend off).
Lateral Transfer Program Details:
Lateral transfers regarding vacation and pay may be considered based on previous law enforcement training and experience.

Qualifications:
- Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
- Ability to perform essential functions of this position
- Ability to possess a firearm
- Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Clear and concise speech
- Driver's license
- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
- Good driving record

- Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
