Responsibilities:
A Patrol Officer performs a wide variety of police duties and is the community’s first defense against crime and social disorder. Assigned duties are performed in accordance with department Policies and Procedures, Rules and Regulations and directives, both verbal and written. All assigned duties and tasks are expected to be performed in an effective, efficient and safe manner. A Patrol Officer is required to exercise initiative and good judgment. The work of a patrol officer is performed under the supervision of a command or supervisory officer. A patrol officer must commit him or herself to goals that communicate the highest degree of public service and fair treatment while reflecting a total commitment to the ethics of law enforcement. Personal conduct and behavior, both on and off duty, must be such that it does not unnecessarily endanger the community’s trust or confidence in the department or its employees. A Patrol Officer must endeavor to be always fair, always honest, always sincere, always accountable, and always courageous. A Patrol Officer must seek truth from others and integrity from themselves.

Qualifications:
- Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
- Ability to perform essential functions of this position
- Ability to possess a firearm
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Clear and concise speech
- Driver's license
- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
- Good driving record

- Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
