Responsibilities:
Position Responsibilities
The purpose of this position is to protect county citizens and property, prevent crime, apprehend criminals, provide law enforcement service, and enforce state and federal laws and county ordinances. The work is performed during an assigned shift and under the supervision of the Patrol Sergeant and/or Patrol Lieutenant.
Lateral Transfer Program Details:
Lateral Entry and Retention Program - The County and the Association agree for those select officers meeting the Lateral Entry Program minimum qualifications, and at the County's sole discretion, shall be entitled to the defined enhanced compensation and benefits.

- Ability to perform essential functions of this position
- Ability to possess a firearm
- Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Clear and concise speech
- Driver's license
- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
- Good driving record
- Good physical condition
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
- No domestic abuse convictions
- No felony convictions
- React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
- U.S. citizen
- Vision correctable to 20/20
