Responsibilities:

Position Responsibilities

Perform patrol responsibilities for a community of approximately 3,500 residents. Enforce local ordinances, traffic laws, and state statutes. Investigate complaints of suspicious and criminal activity. Gather information, statements, and collect evidence. Issue warnings, citations, and make arrests as appropriate. Complete clear and concise incident reports. Attend regular training and meetings. Work independently and as a team with minimal direct supervision. Our organization provides law enforcement services to the Hortonville Area School District which has approximately 4,500 students. The department focuses on strong community relationships through programs and events. We seek candidates who have a strong interest in community engagement.

  • Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
  • No domestic abuse convictions
  • No felony convictions
  • React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
  • U.S. citizen
  • Vision correctable to 20/20
