Position Responsibilities

Perform all essential tasks of a Law Enforcement Officer with a focus on community oriented policing. This sworn position is responsible for the protection of life and property through the enforcement of laws and ordinances. Work involves patrolling, responding to criminal, suspicious, traffic and unusual situations as directed; investigating crime, gathering evidence, apprehending violators, solving problems, protecting victims and property, responding to emergency situations, completing appropriate paperwork and other related duties as required.

Lateral Transfer Program Details:

Laterally hired officers may receive starting hourly pay and vacation time equal to their prior years of service.

  • Driver's license
  • Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification

  • Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
  • No domestic abuse convictions
  • No felony convictions
  • Previous experience
  • React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
