Officers work, 10-hour days, either Mon/Tues/Wed or Wed/Thur/Fri, with every other weekend off. You will earn Paid Vacation: 80 hours - 1 year, 120 hours after 5 years, 140 hours after 7 years, 160 hours after 10 years, and 200 hours after 19 years, along with unlimited compensation time. Want to train with the best? Beloit PD has a multitude of specialty teams available to join after one year. Join our Drone Team, SWAT Team, Crisis Negations Unit, Violet Crime Interdiction Team, Instructor Positions, Uniform Committee, Assessment Recruitment Team, Evidence Technicians, Peer Support Team and many more. Want additional training every week? At our Department, every officer works Wednesday and we train each week: handgun, rifle, less lethal, scenario-based exercises, high-risk traffic stops, emergency driving, ground fighting tactics, weapon retention, ALERRT, and joint practices with other agencies, just to name a few. Our Assessment and Recruitment Team attends several community events throughout the year. We focus on the overall well-being and safety of our officers.
