Responsibilities:
Position Responsibilities
GENERAL FUNCTION Responsible for the care and custody of jail inmates, provides necessary health and welfare needs as required, attends to the health, medical, and emotional needs of the inmates and maintains security and order in the jail. Assist with and complete transports as assigned.

Qualifications:
Qualifications
- Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
- Ability to perform essential functions of this position
- Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Clear and concise speech
- Driver's license
- Good driving record
- Good physical condition
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
- No domestic abuse convictions
- No felony convictions
- React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
- U.S. citizen

- Must be presently certified or certifiable as a Corrections Officer

60 college credits / Associate's degree - Criminal Justice/Corrections degree preferred.
