Position Responsibilities

The Jefferson Police Department is currently seeking motivated, self-starting, certified police officer candidates to fill Full Time Patrol Officer vacancies and join our small community family. We are also taking applications to sponsor those with a strong interest in becoming a police officer who still need to attend the 720 hour police academy. These positions will start at a part-time level to evolve into full time as staff shortages require it.

Lateral Transfer Program Details:

No entrance test or physical agility testing and abbreviated field training for qualified candidates. Pay rate, vacation time, and sick time dependent on years of service and experience.

60 college credits / Associate's degree
Additional Education Information
60 college credits must be earned within 5 years of employment.
