Position Responsibilities

Correctional Officers are responsible for providing care, custody & the detention of male & female inmates in the Jail; providing a positive rehabilitative influence to all inmates; insuring compliance with all applicable state & federal laws; & acting within the policies and procedures of the Jail. Lateral Transfer Program Details:

On a case-by-case basis, the Sheriff will determine pay for Correctional Officers transferring from another agency. An Officer’s years of experience, jail academy completion and/or eligibility for out of state reciprocity (if applicable) will be taken into consideration.
