Responsibilities:
Responsibilities are focused on working as a team member to enforce laws, maintain public peace and order, protecting life and property. Working with the community to address community problems and building positive relationships with community members. The Hudson Police Department serves 15,000 local residents as well as 83,000 daily transient population.
Lateral Transfer Program Details:
The Chief of Police may appoint a new Officer with prior full-time law enforcement experience wherein the City may set initial wage compensation at a higher step than the lowest rate, as determined in the discretion of City Administrator or the Administrator’s designee, but shall not exceed the applicant’s actual prior years of full-time law enforcement service or the existing schedule in the applicable current collective bargaining agreement. The City’s determination of where the employee is placed on the wage schedule shall be final. The employee’s full-time experience within the City will dictate Employee’s movement through the wage schedule rather than the Employee’s prior law enforcement service. Employee seniority shall be determined by the collective bargaining agreement.

- Driver's license
- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
