Position Responsibilities

This is a cross-trained position that will provide police, fire, and EMS services to the Village of Ashwaubenon. No experience in any of the three disciplines are necessary to apply, but preference will be given to current certified law enforcement officers, or those currently enrolled in a law enforcement program/academy. New officers will work a police 6 on 3 off night shift and attend classes for fire/EMS certifications if they are needed. Once firefighter and EMT-Basic certifications are obtained and there is an opening on a 24-hour shift, night shift Public Safety Officers will transition to a 24 hour on/48 hour off schedule. Career advancement opportunities include Investigator, School Resource Officer, Drug Task Force, SWAT, K9, Mobile Field Force, instructor, and supervisory positions. If you have experience in police/fire/EMS or corrections, you may qualify for our lateral entry incentive and start at a higher pay and vacation level based on years of service.
