Position Responsibilities

Under the general direction of a Patrol Sergeant/Shift Commander. Ensures adequate patrol coverage is maintained and provides an effective delivery of law enforcement services for his/her assigned area of responsibility. Enforces federal, state and county laws and ordinances in a fair and impartial manner. Responsible for the enforcement of laws relating to the use of highways, maintenance of order upon or near the highways and provision of general police protection for the community at large. Conducts preliminary and follow-up investigations on felony and misdemeanor offenses discovered through the performance of assigned duties. This position is also eligible for lateral transfer.
