The City of Bayfield, on Lake Superior adjacent the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore has an opportunity for a full-time officer. A sign on bonus of $1,000 upon hiring, after 6 months $1,500, after 1-year successful completion of training period $2,500. Starting wage is $29.80 less 10 percent. Experienced officers will have the opportunity to negotiate starting wage and other benefits based on experience. The police department is a 3-officer department. Questions can be answered by contacting Chief Matthew Ladwig. Submit the DJ-LE-330 to include answering the questions in Section 6. Also submit DJ-LE-305, Authorizing the release of information.

Responsibilities:

Position Responsibilities

Full time patrol officer providing law enforcement services to the City of Bayfield. Duties include patrol, responding to incidents, traffic law enforcement, accident investigation, criminal investigation, completing all reports, community policing and all other duties assigned by the chief of police.
