Position Responsibilities

Be a leader, be present in the community. Possess supervisory skills, professional knowledge, and a progressive management style. Promote community relations. Promote equity, diversity, and cultural competency. Promote and implement crime prevention and community policing strategies. Serve as Emergency Management Director for the Village. Be aware of, and promote, the welfare and morale of members of the police department. Process and investigate or direct to be investigated, citizen inquiries and complaints. Other Qualifications
  • 10 years as full-time law enforcement officer with a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible supervisory/management (command level) experience.
  • FBI Academy/Northwestern School of Police Staff & Command/Southern Police Institute or similar/combination of experience/education may be accepted
