Lateral Transfer Program Details:

The City of West Bend is accepting applications for the position of Police Officer from current sworn law enforcement officers and candidates eligible for certification as of 12/31/26. Candidates must be at least 20 years of age, have excellent character, possess or be able to obtain a valid Wisconsin driver’s license, and be able to perform the essential functions of a law enforcement officer. Candidates must be LESB certifiable before being hired, which includes having completed a minimum of 60 college credits, successfully completed a Wisconsin Basic Recruit School by 12/31/26, or be able to pass the State Reciprocity Exam. Lateral transfer salary and vacation time adjustments are available for qualified candidates with prior experience as a certified law enforcement officer. Tuition reimbursement for self-funded Recruit School is available upon successful completion of the probationary period. The patrol salary range based on the current contract effective 12/20/26 is $77,328 - $99,363 plus benefits.
