Position Responsibilities

Eligible candidates must be at least 20 years old, have excellent character, a valid driver’s license, a minimum of 60 college credits, and must be able to perform the essential functions of a law enforcement officer.

Lateral Transfer Program Details:

Lateral transfer starting salary and vacation time adjustments are available for candidates with prior full time sworn officer experience. The State Reciprocity Exam is available for certification of out of state sworn officers. Department Recruit School sponsorship for non-certified candidates is available. Tuition reimbursement for certifiable candidates who self-funded Recruit School is available upon successful completion of the probationary period.
