The City of Amery Police Department is currently seeking a Part-Time Officer that will have flexible hours of work. The Amery Police Department works 12 hour shift on a Pittman Schedule. The number of hours the PT officer will be expected to work will vary. PT Officer will be provided a Department issued firearm. Position Responsibilities

The role of an Amery Police Officer encompasses various responsibilities, such as patrolling, enforcing criminal and municipal laws, maintaining public relations, and ensuring the safety of the community. This involves monitoring and implementing traffic laws, investigating traffic crashes, responding to routine and emergency assistance requests, investigating and reporting criminal activities, making arrests, and performing other related law enforcement duties.

  • Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to perform essential functions of this position
  • Ability to possess a firearm
  • Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
  • Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Clear and concise speech
  • Driver's license
  • Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
  • Good driving record
  • Good physical condition
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
  • No domestic abuse convictions
  • No felony convictions
  • React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
  • U.S. citizen
  • Vision correctable to 20/20
