Position Responsibilities

Patrol Deputy Position- Operate a marked patrol car, regulate traffic/issue traffic citations, respond to calls; conduct interviews; make arrests, perform investigations, provide first aid, produce reports in accordance with Department Policies, attend training; testify in court, and other duties as assigned. 12/8-hour rotations, with [5 ON 4 OFF] [5 ON 5 OFF] [4 ON 5 OFF] pattern.

Lateral Transfer Program Details:

Beginning January 1, 2026, a lateral entry program shall go into effect. Under this program, Management, at its sole discretion, may consider a new hire's prior work experience as a law enforcement officer when setting the new hi re's starting wage and/or vacation so that the new hi re's starting salary and/or vacation is commensurate with the prior officer's experience, up to a maximum of 5 years for wages and 10 years for vacation. Employees will remain at the level of accruals they are placed until they have served that number of years with Sawyer County and then will accrue as per the accrual chart No other contractual benefits or privileges are extended to the prior law enforcement service. Lateral entry officers are still subject to the probationary period.
