Responsibilities:

Position Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll either help care for and supervise individuals in the Taylor County Jail or assist the public and first responders through our Communications Center, including answering 911 calls. While this is a non-sworn position without arrest powers, it is an important part of keeping our community safe.

  • Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
  • Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Clear and concise speech
  • Driver's license
  • Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
  • Good driving record
  • Good physical condition
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
  • No domestic abuse convictions
  • No felony convictions
  • React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
  • U.S. citizen
  • Vision correctable to 20/20

Other Qualifications
  • We’re looking for individuals who are responsible, calm under pressure, and committed to helping others. A high school diploma or GED is required, and prior law enforcement or related experience is a plus but not required.
