A Village of Redgranite Police Officer responsibilities are the protection of life and property by maintaining peace and order through the enforcement of federal, state and local laws. Officers must also be responsive to community needs, identify and deal with social problems and be responsive to social controls. The uniformed police officer is the most visible and most encountered representative of local government. Responsibilities:

Position Responsibilities

Patrol duties, traffic enforcement, investigations, enforcement of state statutes local village ordinances, patrol of local parks / quarry. Assist local law enforcement partners. Assist local fire / ems. Respond to complaints at WI DOC prison (RGCI). Complete reports and submit in timely manner. Work with other municipal departments. Follow department policies and directives established by police committee and chief of police.

Qualifications:

Qualifications
  • Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to perform essential functions of this position
  • Ability to possess a firearm
  • Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
  • Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Clear and concise speech
  • Driver's license
  • Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
  • Good driving record
  • Good physical condition
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
  • No domestic abuse convictions
  • No felony convictions
  • React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
  • U.S. citizen
  • Vision correctable to 20/20
Other Qualifications
  • Bilingual officers a plus
