Responsibilities:
Police Officers are generally responsible for a wide range of tasks associated with police service, including but not limited to the enforcement of laws and ordinances, arrest an detention, search and seizure, the investigation of crimes, evidence collection, patrol operations, traffic enforcement, first aid/first responder situations, driving/operate police vehicles, crime prevention and community relations and other incidents of public concern, the protection of life, property, civil rights, and public order and other services which contribute to the individual and collective safety and welfare of citizens. Patrol officers carry out their assigned duties and responsibilities pursuant to established departmental written directives, general orders and police procedures. Police Officers have the duty to be knowledgeable in the law and legal procedures; departmental policies, procedures, rules and regulations; the skills, techniques and practices necessary to successfully discharge their responsibilities. They are expected to be diligent and aggressive in the performance of duties and responsibilities consistent with department policies and priorities and to be mindful of departmental goals and objectives. Police Officers receive general supervision and from time to time receive direction as to specific duties and responsibilities from their supervisor. Their work is subject to review by ranking officers. Police Officers must obey lawful orders issued by appropriate authority.

Qualifications:
- Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
- Ability to perform essential functions of this position
- Ability to possess a firearm
- Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Clear and concise speech
- Driver's license
- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
- Good driving record
- Good physical condition
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
- No domestic abuse convictions
- No felony convictions
- React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
- U.S. citizen
- Vision correctable to 20/20
