Responsibilities:
This hourly position will typically be scheduled to work 40 hours in a pay period (two-week timeframe). This is a non-represented, classified position. To perform law enforcement and crime prevention work by patrolling assigned court area including traffic, parking, crowd control, answering calls for service and investigating crimes; to make arrests as necessary. To always preserve peace and order in the courtroom. This duty includes jury management and the escort of jury panels to and from courtrooms. To prepare reports of arrests made, investigations conducted, and incidents observed. To maintain custody of prisoners during examinations, hearings, hospital transports, trials or during conveyance to other State or County institutions. To participate in in-service training as required by the LESB and other developmental training as required by the Service area. To interview victims, complainants, and witnesses; interrogate suspects; gather and preserve evidence; to testify and present evidence in court; to apply force, up to and including deadly force. To effect arrests and maintain order. To provide medical care as required as a Law Enforcement First Responder. Other duties may be required by superior officers.

Qualifications:
- Ability to perform essential functions of this position
- Ability to possess a firearm
- Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
- Driver's license
- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
- No felony convictions
- Previous experience
- U.S. citizen
- Minimum Age:
Minimum Age21
- Must meet vision and hearing standards
- Must reside in Wisconsin
- Five (5) years of experience in WI law enforcement certified position is required
- Must be within the designated timeframe to regain employment as a LESB certified law enforcement officer and must maintain throughout employment.
