Position Responsibilities

Position is a full time sworn law enforcement officer. Protect life and property while safeguarding the rights and freedoms of citizens as granted by the Constitution; Investigate thoroughly and follow up on all complaints, collect and process evidence, and conduct interviews of persons connected with suspects and/or incidents; Conduct specialized investigations into sensitive offenses. Ensuring adherence to legal and department standards. The School Liaison position will act as the bridge between the Phillips Police Department and the School District of Phillips. Provide and facilitate student community presentations and programs. Attend extra-curricular events and other services as deemed appropriate by the School District and Command Staff of the Phillips Police Department. School Liaison Officer duties require scheduling flexibility to attend school events after normal hours.

Qualifications:

Qualifications
  • Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to perform essential functions of this position
  • Ability to possess a firearm
  • Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
  • Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Clear and concise speech
  • Driver's license
  • Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
  • Good driving record
  • Good physical condition
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
  • No domestic abuse convictions
  • No felony convictions
  • Previous experience
  • React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
  • U.S. citizen
  • Vision correctable to 20/20
Other Qualifications
  • At least two years of law enforcement experience.
