Responsibilities:
Position Responsibilities
Second in charge of the police department. Oversees daily operations of the Patrol and Dispatch divisions. Works with the Chief to conduct Internal Investigations. Assist the Chief in budget preparation. Attends meetings, events, and training. Schedules, directs, and coordinates the activities of subordinate staff. Provides Incident Command during emergencies. Works with Community stakeholders to address community needs. Performs routine Administrative Duties (report approval, court duties, investigations).

Qualifications
- Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
- Ability to perform essential functions of this position
- Ability to possess a firearm
- Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Clear and concise speech
- Driver's license
- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
- Good driving record
- Good physical condition
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
- No domestic abuse convictions
- No felony convictions
- Previous experience
- React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
- Supervisory/Management Experience
- U.S. citizen
- Vision correctable to 20/20
Other Qualifications
- Associates degree and at least (5) five years of law enforcement experience required
