911 Dispatch - Telecommunicator -- Chippewa County Minimum Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Previous emergency services dispatch experience, 911 training and previous experience working in a 24/7 environment are preferred.
• CPR Certification and Emergency Medical Dispatch Certification are preferred.
• Time System Certification is required within one (1) year of hire.

Responsibilities:
Chippewa County is currently accepting applications from qualified individuals seeking to establish or advance their career in 911 Telecommunications. This position within the Sheriff’s Department offers the opportunity to work with a highly skilled Communications Center Team providing both emergency and non-emergency services to the communities of Chippewa County. All law enforcement, EMS and fire agencies within Chippewa County are dispatched through the Communication Center. Chippewa County Communication Center operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Dispatchers work 12-hour day shifts (6:00 am – 6:00 pm) or night shifts (6:00 pm – 6:00 am) which includes weekends, holidays, overtime, and emergency call-ins. Open positions may be assigned to either shift depending on staffing needs. Shift assignments and preferences are managed through a seniority-based process. Candidates must be willing and able to work either days or nights, as well as weekends and holidays.

• Ability to learn and use GPS and GIS data relating to county landmarks, roads and businesses
• Ability to respond in a calm, level-headed manner, thinking quickly in the midst of stressful situations
