Position Responsibilities

Sergeant / Investigator - This is a professional position involving direct supervision of personnel and management of daily functions of the Police Department in absence of the Chief of Police as well as performing other responsibilities of law enforcement and investigations. The Sergeant/Investigator is responsible for assisting the Chief of Police in direct supervision of personnel, executing orders promptly and willingly as well as standing ready to assume the duties of the Chief in the Chief’s absence.

Lateral Transfer Program Details:

A newly hired law enforcement officer who has previous law enforcement experience of a minimum of of (1) year of uninterrupted full-time employment with a different Police Department prior to being part of the Green Lake Police Department shall receive pay and vacation days using a calculation of all aggregate law enforcement service.

  • Ability to perform essential functions of this position

  • Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
  • Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Clear and concise speech
  • Driver's license
  • Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
  • Good driving record
  • Good physical condition
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
  • No domestic abuse convictions
  • No felony convictions
  • Previous experience
  • React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
  • U.S. citizen
