Responsibilities:

Position Responsibilities

The primary duty of a Patrol Sergeant is to provide supervision and be an informational resource for Deputies in the field, manage large scenes, and provide overall shift supervision in the absence of the Patrol Shift Commander.

Lateral Transfer Program Details:

A lateral transfer to our agency will entitle the Deputy to the same compensation and benefits as their peers with the same time in service. Please call with additional questions.

  • Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to perform essential functions of this position
  • Ability to possess a firearm
  • Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
  • Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Clear and concise speech
  • Driver's license
  • Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
  • Good driving record
  • Good physical condition
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
  • No domestic abuse convictions
  • No felony convictions
  • Previous experience
  • React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
  • Supervisory/Management Experience
  • U.S. citizen
  • Vision correctable to 20/20

  • Recommended four years as a law enforcement officer
