Responsibilities:

Position Responsibilities

Conduct patrol duties, respond to calls for service, assist the public, enforce traffic laws, investigate traffic crashes, conduct investigations, enforce federal, state, and local laws, prepare written reports, forms, and other documents as required, and testify in criminal and municipal court proceedings.

Lateral Transfer Program Details:

We encourage experienced officers to apply. Newly hired officers with experience can be hired at a higher rate of pay and greater amount of vacation time than that of an officer with no previous experience. At a minimum, all new officers will receive 120 hours of vacation annually. Officers work 11-hour shifts on a 2 on 2 off, 3 on 2 off, 2 on 3 off rotation. This results in having every other 3-day weekend off.

  • Clear and concise speech
  • Driver's license
  • Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
  • Good driving record
  • Good physical condition
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
  • No domestic abuse convictions
  • No felony convictions
  • React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
  • U.S. citizen
  • Vision correctable to 20/20
