Responsibilities:
Establishing an eligibility list with anticipated opening. Respond to calls for service, assist the public, conduct investigations, enforce federal, state, and local laws, investigate traffic crashes, enforce traffic laws, prepare written reports, and testify in court. We value positive police and community relations. This position will have the opportunity to work closely with the community and the schools. Patrol currently works the pitman schedule; week 1 is Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat, & Sun. Week 2 is Wed & Thur. Patrol shift hours are from noon to midnight, except Sundays are from noon to eight at night. Officers have every other Fri, Sat, & Sun off, allowing for officers to have a good work-life balance.

Qualifications:
- Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
- Ability to perform essential functions of this position
- Ability to possess a firearm
- Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Clear and concise speech
- Driver's license
- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
- Good driving record
- Good physical condition
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
- No domestic abuse convictions
- No felony convictions
- React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
- U.S. citizen
- Vision correctable to 20/20
