Position Responsibilities

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office operates a 24-hour Emergency Communications Center that answers 911 phone calls and dispatches emergency services for the Sheriff’s Office, 6 Police Departments, and 14 Fire and Rescue agencies. Communications Officers receive, relay, and dispatch emergency calls for service; enter, update, and retrieve information from a variety of computer systems; utilize computer-aided dispatch (CAD); and operate a variety of communications equipment, including radio consoles and telephones.

Lateral Transfer Program Details:

Lateral pay transfers based on prior E911 dispatching experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
