Training & Standards Bureau

Thessa Phillips serves as the Instructor Certification and Recertification Specialist for the Training and Standards Bureau. Thessa processes requests for instructor certification and recertification, Master Instructor Trainer certification and recertification, and Credentialed Instructor registration and registration renewal. She makes recommendations on waiver requests for instructor applicants to the Law Enforcement Standards Board at their quarterly meetings. She also helps coordinate and facilitate instructor updates around the state for the over 3,000 certified instructors.
