Dear Criminal Justice Partner,
Please note we will be experiencing a change in operations due to the Milwaukee Crime Laboratory move. The last day we will accept evidence at the 1578 S. 11th Street address will be Friday, 05-29-2026. On Wednesday, 06-03-2026 we will resume evidence intake at our new location at 9400 W. Doyne Avenue, Suite 200, Wauwatosa WI 53226. The impact of this move will vary depending on the unit needed to examine the evidence.
All processing of evidence at the Milwaukee Crime Lab at S. 11th Street will cease during the laboratory move starting in June. We will resume processing evidence at the 9400 W. Doyne Avenue location when all instruments have been validated, and the new location has been accredited. This is anticipated to be completed by the end of September 2026. In the meantime, any high priority cases or cases that require a due date prior to 10-20-2026 due to court demands will be transferred to another crime laboratory for testing.
There will be no disruption in the technical services that the Office of Crime Scene Response performs during this transition. Please know that the Wisconsin State Crime Laboratories will be working diligently to limit disruption of our service to you and resume processing for all disciplines at the new location as soon as possible. Please see the table below for dates on when services will resume. If a date is not listed, please check back at your earliest convenience.
