Position Responsibilities

Swear an oath to uphold and defend the Constitutions of the United States of America and the State of Wisconsin. Perform all law enforcement functions. These duties include summer and winter recreational patrols. Therefore, experience in boating, ATV, and snowmobile is preferred. A background in the enforcement of Chapter 23.33, 30, and 350 is a plus. MUST be able to swim. Able to work weekends, holidays (religious and otherwise), birthdays, evenings. The ability to patrol with little supervision is required. MUST be able to attend mandatory department trainings and successfully complete the Field Training Program.

  • Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to perform essential functions of this position
  • Ability to possess a firearm
  • Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
  • Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Clear and concise speech
  • Driver's license
  • Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
  • Good driving record
  • Good physical condition
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
  • No domestic abuse convictions
  • No felony convictions
  • React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
  • U.S. citizen
  • Vision correctable to 20/20
Other Qualifications
  • Bilingual in Spanish, Russian, Miao or Hmong are encouraged to apply.
  • Out of state police /military experience accepted if eligible for reciprocity exam
