Position Responsibilities

The Jefferson Police Department is currently seeking motivated, certified police officer candidates to fill Full-Time Patrol Officer vacancies. Work schedule is a 5 day work week with 3 days off every other week and 2 days off on the opposite weeks.

Lateral Transfer Program Details:

No entrance test or physical agility testing. Pay rate and vacation time dependent on years of service and experience. Abbreviated Field Training. Top patrol rate increase in July, 2024, to $35.37.

  • Driver's license
  • Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification

  • Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
  • No domestic abuse convictions
  • No felony convictions
  • React quickly and effectively to stressful situations

60 college credits / Associate's degree
Additional Education Information
