Position Responsibilities

- Preventive and directed patrol. - Enforcement of federal, state and city laws. - Obtain, verify and report information which provides the basis for making arrests. - Enforcement of traffic laws and investigation of traffic accidents. - Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for service. - Promote professional relationships within the agency, city government, and community in accordance with the department's mission, goals and objectives. - Ability to perform the physical functions of police officer.

60 college credits / Associate's degree
Additional Education Information
At the time of application, applicants must have completed a minimum of 60 college credits with a GPA of 2.0 from a college, university, or technical college.
Exception: An individual who is either a certified law enforcement officer in Wisconsin, or is a certified law enforcement officer outside of Wisconsin with a minimum of one year of sworn service, may apply without this education requirement. Applicants who qualify for this exception must complete the 60-college credit minimum within their first five years of employment as an officer with a Wisconsin law enforcement agency.
