The West Salem Police Department is looking to hire two (2) full-time police officers beginning in January of 2024. The application process will remain open until both positions are filled. Officers work a 11 Hour Shift / Pitman Schedule - with every other weekend off. The Village offers $25/month (single) and $50/month (family) health insurance premium with a health reimbursement account.

Responsibilities:
Justly enforce the laws and ordinances of the State of Wisconsin and the Village of West Salem, conduct criminal investigations, investigate accidents, identify and solve community problems, and provide preventative police patrol. Perform all duties of sworn Police Officer.

Qualifications:
- Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
- Ability to perform essential functions of this position
- Ability to possess a firearm
- Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Clear and concise speech
- Driver's license
- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
- Good driving record
- Good physical condition
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
- No domestic abuse convictions
- No felony convictions
- React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
- U.S. citizen
- Vision correctable to 20/20
