Position Responsibilities

Applicants must meet the following requirements: be a U.S. citizen with a valid WI driver’s license; have an acceptable driver’s record with no felony driving convictions; must be in good physical condition; must be eligible for certification by the Wisconsin Department of Justice-Law Enforcement Standards Board and have a minimum of 60-college credits or an associate degree or bachelors degree in Criminal Justice or related field and have completed a required recruit academy; have obtained a high school diploma; have a criminal history clear of felony convictions and the ability to possess a firearm; no domestic abuse convictions; vision correctable to 20/20; above average written and oral communication skills; the ability to react quickly and effectively in stressful situations; the ability to work nights, weekends and holidays or otherwise as directed by the Chief of Police; knowledge and skilled in operating computer systems; to be able to speak clearly and concisely; the ability to multi-task; the training and ability to perform essential job functions of the position and the ability to use all required law enforcement equipment correctly and effectively.
