Responsibilities:
Position Responsibilities
Patrol Rock Lake in a boat and enforce DNR boating laws and town ordinances. Educate the public on safe boating and required safety equipment in a kind and professional manner. Hours: primarily weekends Fri-Sun sharing hours with other boating officer staff to complete the summer schedule. You are not expected to work every weekend. Department has flexibility with start and leave time, and which days you area available. Staff can work some random weekdays as well. We are flexible! $25 an hour! - Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
- Ability to perform essential functions of this position
- Ability to possess a firearm
- Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Clear and concise speech
- Driver's license
- Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
- Good driving record
- Good physical condition
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
- No domestic abuse convictions
- No felony convictions
- Previous experience
- React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
- U.S. citizen
- Vision correctable to 20/20
Education Requirements:

High school diploma
60 college credits / Associate's degree
Additional Education Information
WI Law Enforcement Academy graduate at time of start date, or completion of reciprocity. Boat patrol is generally May-September. Previous law enforcement experience is preferred.
